POLICE OFFICER: “Do you understand English?”

UNKNOWN: “Yeah.”

POLICE OFFICER: “You do? Why did you park here?”

UNKNOWN: “Yeah.”

POLICE OFFICER: “No, no good. Is there anybody else in the truck? Is there anybody else in the truck?”

UNKNOWN: “My company.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Your company. OK. You don’t understand English. Pants. Put your pants on.”

UNKNOWN: “Yes. What?”

POLICE OFFICER: “Put your pants on. Pants. Put some pants on.”

UNKNOWN: “Yeah, yeah. OK.”

POLICE OFFICER: “You don’t understand English? What company do you work for?”

UNKNOWN: “My company? California.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Your company is called California?”

UNKNOWN: “Yeah, yeah.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Yeah, you don’t understand me.”

CAIN: “No pants, no English. My company is California. What about signs? You know, with icons instead of words. He can’t be that incapable, right? The answer is yes. Yes, he can.”

POLICE OFFICER: “What does that sign mean?”

UNKNOWN: “What does that mean? [inaudible]”

POLICE OFFICER: “What does this sign mean?”

UNKNOWN: “Must enter. [inaudible]”

POLICE OFFICER: “OK, so if you see this sign, what do you do?”

UNKNOWN: “[inaudible] must.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Number 35, what is this sign?”

UNKNOWN: “Two people, maybe girl, maybe woman.”

POLICE OFFICER: “What does it mean?”

UNKNOWN: “What does it mean?”

POLICE OFFICER: “Yeah. What does that sign mean?”

UNKNOWN: “There are two people.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Two people doing what?”

UNKNOWN: “Walk.”

POLICE OFFICER: “They’re walking?”

UNKNOWN: “Yeah. Two people are walking.”

POLICE OFFICER: “Where?”

UNKNOWN: “I don’t know where.”

CAIN: “Just flat-out unable to understand basic road signs. The ones our kids learn in driver’s ed.”
