2 Samuel 12:26-13:39, The Sins of Lust/Murder Spread to David’s Sons

Joab lays siege to the Ammonite city of Rabbah then summons David, ensuring that the king will get credit for defeating Israel’s last standing enemy. Amnon becomes obsessed with his half-sister Tamar, enlists a friend to help, then rapes and subsequently rejects her. Two years later, Tamar’s brother Absolom murders Amnon, then flees to Geshur.

We see how Tamar’s tragic story was a consequence of David’s earlier sins of adultery with Bathsheba and murder of her husband, Uriah.  With supporting Scriptures, Pastor Kevin gives practical advice to equip believers on how to escape temptations that will lead to life-long consequences and regret, emphasizing the responsibility of parents to be diligent on behalf of their children.
