Officers Attacked While Responding to a Shooting (Peoria, IL PD)

On September 28, 2025, officers with the Peoria Illinois Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the downtown area. Upon their arrival, they found a male victim. While attempting to render aid, officers were surrounded and attacked by bystanders, which delayed officers from providing care.
