Roger Ebert & The Movies: 11-14-99

Roger Ebert and Guest Critic, Joyce Kulhawik from WBZ-TV Boston reviews "Anywhere But Here"; "Pokemon: The First Movie" (Although I was more of a Digimon fan at the time and I love Anime! Still the most popular franchise in Japan and span many worldwide! I do always enjoy watching the series and it's a good thing Kids WB!, 4Kids and Nintendo decided not to screened the later films for Ebert and other nationwide critics because this is why! And I can't believe I'm saying this but I somehow agree with Joyce more than Ebert even though "Princess Mononoke" is way better in terms of animation. This film has a short film called "Pikachu's Vacation" and the entire movie is mostly about Mewtwo, the intelligence and powerful that only speaks and Mew, the cat whose a twin among other adventures.); "Dogma" (My favorite Kevin Smith movie next to "Clerks" were he satirized Catholic Religion about two evil fallen Angels and the Demonic Devil along with Three Hockey Punks are about to straight to Heaven and one woman along with other angels are about to stop them! Starring: Linda Florentino, Alan Rickman, Chris Rock, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Lee, Salma Hayek, Janeane Galofalo and George Carlin. Yes, it's finally getting a 4K UHD release after the long OOP Blu-ray that I own and DVD releases. Disagree with Joyce.); "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Ark" (Luc Besson's Medieval Action-Adventure of the warrior heroine. Never understood the hate it gets especially Ebert himself and comparing this with "Braveheart" is ludicrous. And to think, this was before their disagreement with "Gladiator". Starring: Milla Jovovich, John Malkovich, Faye Dunaway and Dustin Hoffman.) and "Felicia's Journey' (A Rather Disturbing Drama/Thriller with Bob Hoskins).
