Battery-spotting AI to cut fires, salvage critical metals

Lithium‑ion batteries are everywhere, and if they end up in trash or mixed recycling they can spark fires when damaged. A new AI vision system now spots and removes them at SWEEEP Kuusakoski's Sittingbourne plant, installed by UK start‑up Lion Vision to cut fire risks and recover valuable materials.
