The Wild Geese (1978).
A quintessential British classic here with a short clip which depicts an experienced tactical force unit planning an attack operation to rescue an African President at the request of a Gov't department and a bank who are both ultimately in control and determined to profit from this rescue operation. Unbeknown to these former soldiers, they get double-crossed and end up as targets by the same Establishment that asked them to carry out this operation in the first place because as soon as there's a political shift in the African state, they're then tasked for their own survival by another hit squad.

Starring:-

Patrick Allen, Richard Burton, Barry Foster, Richard Harris and Roger Moore.

Not only were these men recognised for their great acting, but also for their exceptional vocal cords. Perhaps if it had also included John Hurt and Christopher Plummer, it really would have been the icing on the cake?
