Peru's new president Jose Jeri arrives at National Palace

Peru's new president, José Jeri, was received on Friday (October 10) with full military honors at the National Palace on his first day in office, after Congress unanimously removed his predecessor, Dina Boluarte, over rising crime and corruption scandals.
