Proverbs 1:7-9

Lacking wisdom? The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. The book of Proverbs is a collection of wise principles to live by, but reiterates again and again - fear the LORD as a starting place. This is a holy fear - a fear in awe and wonder - not a hide-away-in-a-closet fear or run-from-God fear. God is approachable but also so amazingly holy that we approach in holy awe of who He is. And that is the beginning of wisdom.
