On September 13, 2025, at 2:37 pm local time (Asia/Kamchatka GMT+12), a strong magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck in the northern Pacific Ocean, near Kamchatka.

!! The epicenter was located about 361 km (224 mi) from the Kamchatka coast, with a depth of 39 km (25 mi). The tremor was felt over a wide area, and due to its shallow depth, it was particularly strong near the epicenter.

This earthquake is among the most powerful to hit the region in recent years.
