An off-season game of a different kind was taking place at the Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals, on Tuesday, January 8, where the crew of a KCTV news helicopter noticed Mario Kart being played on the stadium’s giant video board. Mario Kart’s big screen appearance was part of the fundraising plans of the MLB team’s charitable foundation, Royals Charities. The foundation said on Twitter that it intended to offer a video game party using the stadium’s CrownVision screen as an auction item this year. Credit: KCTV via Storyful
