A 65 meter-long “fatberg” was discovered in Sidmouth, Devon, on December 21, the largest ever discovered in the county. The mass of fat, wet wipes and grease was blocking a sewer near the sea, with Southern Water estimating that it would take eight weeks to fully remove, starting from February 4. The BBC reported that the fatberg was longer than the height of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and double the length of a tennis court. Credit: Southern Water via Storyful
