Rumble 90-Year-Old Stripped of World Record After Failing Anti-Doping Test Cycling has had its share of doping scandals over the years, but never one quite like this. Carl Grove, a 90-year old from Bristol, Indiana, competing in the U.S. Masters Track Championships, tested positive for a banned substance after the race last July. Grove tested positive for epitrenbolone, a metabolite of the prohibited substance trenbolone. Grove had set the record at that competition on July 11, 2018, in his age group — 90 to 94. The good news is that he won’t be suspended so he has a chance to go for the record again this year — at age 91.
