Devin Haney Feels Betrayed: Calls Naji of Cigar Talk a Sellout

On August 28th, Devin Haney revealed his displeasure with Naji of Cigar Talk by openly calling him a sellout on X. Devin is upset that Naji interviewed with Ryan Garcia.

Not only that, but he posted a video snippet of him and Ryan singing a song together about GQ. On the other hand, Devin took that as a slap in the face. To give this some context, I have no idea what Naji and Haney discussed on the phone before this interview.

I have no idea what type of relationship Naji and the Haneys had before this interview or what they discussed before it. What I do know is that the Haneys and Noji talk all the time on the phone.

I've been around Bill Haney when he spoke to Naji on the phone in Miami, and they appeared to have a cordial relationship. Now, Devin feels this is an act of betrayal by Naji for interviewing Ryan Garcia.

Apparently, Naji is off code. There's a lot that I can say about this situation. I don't know Naji or Devin Haney. I've met the brother but have no personal relationship with him.

Ryan Garcia is a flaming bigot. But the Haneys were cool with Ryan being that way. These are millionaire problems, and I doubt Devin or Ryan need broke boxing fans speaking on their behalf.

These boxers care nothing about the code that Neely Fuller Jr coined for black Americans to live by to counter racism-white supremacy. Devin is not that, and neither is Naji.

The only thing black athletes care about is the bag. Most Black athletes only talk about race issues when it's beneficial to their bottom line, and those are the facts.

Don't confuse Devin with Muhammad Ali, Bill Russell, Jim Brown, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilma Rudolph, Tommie Smith, and John Carlos. These are the athletes who broke down barriers for the sake of their people.

They didn't talk about getting the bag. Black celebrities like Bill Cosby, Sidney Poitier, Richard Pryor, Harry Belafonte, and James Earl Jones were beacons of light for black folks in America because they stood for something greater than themselves.

The Black celebrities today are the opposite of those mentioned above, and these are the facts. Don't be surprised if Devin and Naji become friends again. They may be talking on the phone right now, squashing their beef.

As for me, I can give two f*cks. I promise we'll see an interview with Devin Haney and Cigar Talk soon. In other news, Keith Thurman and Sebastian Fundora are set to battle on October 25th in Las Vegas.

O'Shaquie Foster and Stephen Fulton will be the co-main event. This is a good match-up. The only problem is this: the fight is on PPV. No one, and I mean no one, will buy this fight.

Especially when Turki Alashikh declares no more PPVs for Riyadh season fights, platforms like ProBox give us great fights for free. The PBC has no choice but to make this a PPV fight because they don't have a budget from Amazon.

Keith Thurman, Fundora, and Stephen Fulton want big money, but the PBC doesn't have it. So, they have to put the fight on PPV.
