Biblical Audio Commentary – Love in the Time of AI

I recently told a friend that if you pick a topic of what’s going on in the world, I’ve probably written about it. That holds true for today’s offering – in fact it’s something I addressed back in 2015 in a fictional short story. One of the things that I usually did in the over one hundred stories I wrote during that period was to take situations to the extreme. In my fiction, I’m kind of a dystopian writer, and that’s what we generally look at in works of this sort – the worst impulses of man. This is why in a book like George Orwell’s 1984 we see the tyranny of the Big Brother society, and how language is completely turned around to make the bad sound good. In 1984, this is called Newspeak and Doublespeak. For instance, the Ministry of Truth tells anything but the truth, completely turning the actual situation on its head. (FYI – This is why when referring to Hamas in Gaza and statistics they put out, the actual name of the bureau publishing them is the Ministry of Health, which is anything but dedicated to well-being. As a result, I always mention it as the Ministry of Truth in a nod to Orwell.)
