Three dead in taxi violence

Nine people were shot at two taxi ranks this morning in Philippi and Vuyani town two in Khayelitsha, leaving three dead - two drivers and a passenger. Of the nine, three Codeta affiliated operators were attacked at Vuyani taxi rank, and just an hour later, six more people were shot at Luzuko taxi rank, killing the driver and a passenger. Two drivers were hospitalised, and a school boy was reportedly among the injured. The attacks come amid rising tensions between Codeta in Somerset and Cata taxi assoications in Strand over control of the Somerset route
