Nova Scotia: Where Woods Are Dangerous & Not-Woods Are Fine

Hey everybody, Jeff Evely here. I’m in Peterfield Provincial Park, in the province with the most medical problems in Canada — Nova Scotia — with my fuzzy friend Axel. We walk here pretty much every single morning.

Now, as you can see, this area is taped off because that trail goes into the woods. This area is not taped off because it’s not the woods. That area is taped off because it is the woods.

And there’s even a sign here that says: Trail closed due to extreme fire hazards.

So let me break it down: this area — not the woods. That area — the woods. This area — not the woods. That area — the woods. Woods. Not woods. Woods. Not woods.

Back in 2023, this whole area was the woods, and they had pylons across the trail so I couldn’t enter. But now it’s 2025… so apparently, it’s not the woods anymore.
