Thread: Danville 6/0, White & Black
Tail: Scarlet
Butt: Peacock Herl
Rib: Danville Mylar Tinsel, Gold, #16-18
Body: Danville 4-Strand Rayon Floss, Orange
Hackle: Orange
Wing: Jungle Cock Eye

The Golden Rod is another wet fly from Ray Bergman's book Trout (page 431, plate #3). The Golden Rod used two Jungle Cock eyes for the wing which can be a bit tricky (as you will see in the video) to get tied in. Sometimes they go on easy and others you have to "fiddle" with them a bit to get them just the way you want. A fun fly that is worth the trouble if you like tying traditional wet flies. --Enjoy
