Touching video of the new diamond ring given to the wife of 67 years after her wedding ring went missing at the nursing home they both reside at. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Diane Hawkins’ elderly mother was devastated after she lost her wedding rings at the nursing home where she and her husband live – but he stunned her with a new diamond engagement ring for Christmas in DeKalb, Illinois. On December 23, 2018, Diane’s father left his wife speechless after presenting her with the ring in front of friends and family.

The couple, who have been married for 67 years, then shared an emotional kiss. Sharing the tear-jerking video of the moment on YouTube, Diane described her joy at witnessing the event. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the room,” she wrote. "Dad asked me to take him shopping to buy Mom a new engagement ring and wedding band. Recently Mom fell and injured her left hand.

She was unable to wear her wedding rings because of the swelling. She took the wedding rings off and placed them in her jewelry(sic) box on her dresser in her room at the nursing home. They went missing shortly after that. But that didn’t stop the love this couple has shared for 67 years. "

Relatives and friends who were at the gathering and this sweet event were patiently waiting for Patricia to open the gift. She attempted to open the intricate bundling and kidded all through about it being a blessing 'from the pound store.' In the end, she requested that a relative fix the strip on the box before attempting to open it once more.

While she was trying to open the box, her husband, sitting on the left, was eagerly watching his wife and he was waiting for her reaction. When Patricia saw the ring, she was so happy, and she couldn't control her emotions when she saw the ring.

Tears flew as relatives acknowledged what was in the box after Patricia had put some time and effort trying to open it. As the room loaded up with lots of noise and happy wishes, Don and Patricia shared a touching kiss.

Her daughter helped Don to pick up the ring without her mom knowing. Diane and Don managed to sneak off and pick the ring up in secret, and that operation was successful.Don has Parkinson’s disease and so struggles to talk and move, so to get him out of the nursing home they lied that they have to go a speech appointment.

This romantic story ended with a happy ending and it’s melting our hearts. This story teaches us that love is stronger than anything. It’s great to see, people still trying to make their significant other happy even after 67 years old.

In this era of people who don’t respect love and commitment, it is quite tight to find such people. If you happen to find one, treat him/her as a rare gem. You deserved it.
