"In the Pale Moonlight" is a very pivotal episode from the sixth season of DS9 that takes place during the war with the Dominion.

The Federation/Klingon alliance is suffering heavy losses at this point in the season. After viewing the latest casualty reports, Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks)enlist the help of former Cardassian Obsidian Order operative now plain simple tailor, Elim Garak (Andrew Robinson)to create a data rod in order to bring a neutral party into the war effort.
