Apollo 13 commander dies: Renowned astronaut Jim Lovell was 97

James Lovell, one of America’s most legendary astronauts, has passed away at the age of 97.
Known for flying around the Moon on Apollo 8 and leading the dramatic Apollo 13 mission, Lovell became a symbol of courage and quick thinking in the face of disaster.
After an explosion aboard Apollo 13, his calm leadership helped bring the crew safely back to Earth.
