Think About It: The Dangerous Lie Danny West Told About Me.

“A sick retarded convicted pedo.”

That’s what Danny West publicly called me.

Me — Matthew Taylor. I’m 54 years old. I live in Brighton. I’m a father to two brilliant young adults. I’ve been in a loving relationship with a woman my own age for the last decade. I’ve lived a full life — military, politics, media — but never, ever, have I been convicted of any sexual crimes, let alone the vile accusation Danny West has made.

And that’s the key word here: convicted.

There is no conviction.

There were charges.
There were investigations.
There was a forensic examination of my computer/phone equipment.

They found nothing — because I’ve done nothing.

So why is Danny West telling people I’m a “convicted pedo”?

Let that sink in. He’s not just insulting me. He’s endangering me.

Where I live, that kind of accusation could get you killed

I live in Moulsecoomb, Brighton — one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK. It’s a tight-knit community. People don’t mess around here. If someone believed there was a paedophile in the neighbourhood — especially a convicted one — that person wouldn’t be around long. You don’t get a polite knock on the door. You get bricks through windows. You get attacked. You get burned out. That’s the reality.

Danny West knows this — or if he doesn’t, he should. He’s not just throwing words around for effect. He’s weaponising them. He’s painting a target on my back. He’s putting my life in danger — for what? A few likes on YouTube?

And it’s not just me

He’s gone after others too. Look at what he said about Kaley Einav — “a vile cunt who is in the need of a slap.” That’s not just misogyny. That’s inciting violence. And yet this man claims to be a former Staff Sergeant with 17 years of service? Don’t make me laugh. My 15-year-old son is more literate, more disciplined, and more honourable than that.

Danny West isn’t a soldier.
He’s a thug with a camera and a grudge.
He thinks defaming people makes him powerful.
But what it really shows is cowardice.

Here’s the truth

If I were guilty of the things he claims, there would be a legal record. There isn’t one — because it’s not true. And that makes Danny West a liar. A deliberate liar. A dangerous liar.

I’m not taking this lying down.

His lies risk my safety, my reputation, and my family’s wellbeing. And for what? His twisted satisfaction? No.

I will defend myself. Publicly. Loudly. And with the truth.

Danny West, you owe me an apology. You owe my family an apology. And you owe the public an apology — because this kind of reckless slander destroys lives. And if you had any honour left in you, you'd admit that.
