Rumble - SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a US military navigation satellite on Sunday, December 23. Video captured from Brevard County, Florida, shows the rocket soaring above Cape Canaveral, leaving a plume of smoke in its wake. Earlier launch attempts on December 20 and 22 were abandoned due to windy conditions. The Falcon 9 rockets are known for their ability to land after reaching space; however, at the request of the U.S. Air Force, the rocket involved in Sunday’s launch will not land back on earth after deploying the satellite. The launch marks the first “national security space mission for the United States,” Reuters said. Credit: Steven Trujillo via Storyful
