Planning my own DIY canopy roof rack!

Today the planning for my canopy custom roof rack has begun!
What I have in mind with this project is to replace the standard roof bars that came with the canopy on my Toyota Hilux. I want to have the ability to carry slightly larger objects on the roof and also have a nice and strong platform for a few other projects that I have been planning for the vehicle.
So join me in discovering the characteristics of the canopy and what design will be needed for a steady and sturdy roof rack.
