Retired Sterling Heights police sergeant struck, killed by alleged drunk driver in downtown Detroit

A retired police sergeant died after he was struck by an alleged drunk driver early Friday in downtown Detroit. Police say Daryl Brown, 50, was crossing the street at Beaubien and Jefferson when the suspect hit the him and fled the scene. Detroit police officers located and arrested the 30-year-old driver.
