D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), July 3, 2025 — House Republicans passed what Speaker Mike Johnson called a “big, beautiful bill” on Thursday, sending President Trump the crown jewel of his second-term domestic agenda. The 218-214 vote caps months of GOP infighting and delivers sweeping tax cuts, tougher immigration laws, expanded energy production, and major Medicaid rollbacks.

Two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.) — joined all Democrats in opposing the bill, which the Senate approved earlier this week.

“With one big, beautiful bill, we are gonna make this country stronger, safer and more prosperous than ever before,” Johnson said before the vote. “Today we are laying a key cornerstone of America’s new golden age.”

The legislation marks one of Trump’s biggest victories since returning to office, unifying his party behind a broad conservative platform. Key provisions include mandatory E-Verify, drilling expansion, tax relief for families and small businesses, and new Medicaid work requirements.

Trump is expected to sign the bill in a July 4th ceremony, just as his campaign intensifies its push to secure a lasting legacy.
