The Voyage of Osiris: A Myth of Ancient Egypt

Written and illustrated by Gerald McDermott.

This illustrated book retells the ancient Egyptian myth of Osiris, who was a pharaoh and the husband of Isis. According to the story, Osiris was murdered by his brother Set, who was envious of his power. Set killed Osiris, dismembered his body, and scattered the pieces across Egypt. Isis, Osiris's wife and sister, searched for the pieces and reassembled them, allowing Osiris to be resurrected, though he could no longer live on Earth. Instead, he became the ruler of the underworld.
