"Only five rabbis were arrested as part of the corruption and money laundering investigation in New Jersey, not 17. The investigation, codenamed "Operation Bid Rig," resulted in the arrest of 44 individuals, including politicians and rabbis, on charges of corruption, money laundering, and organ trafficking. The five rabbis arrested were Saul Kassin, Eliahu Ben Haim, Edmund Nahum, Mordchai Fish, and Levy Izhak Rosenbaum.

Levy Izhak Rosenbaum was particularly implicated in organ trafficking, where he allegedly brokered the sale of kidneys purchased from impoverished donors for $10,000 and resold for up to $160,000. The other rabbis were involved in money laundering schemes through charities they controlled.

The arrests were part of a larger operation that exposed widespread corruption within New Jersey's political and religious communities."
