GA governor Brian Kemp is term limited. He was appointed as Secretary of State and won re-election. And he won the governor's office with the help of the Trump endorsement and he never looked back. Although he will not be the governor he is determined to control Georgia from top to bottom. He went to DC to make a deal with Trump to put a Senate candidate that they can both agree on. There could be someone else running for governor because he is not friendly with Burt Jones. He has picked his Lt Governor race and has his people in place from the Senate all the way down.
Now there is Tyler Harper, the current AG commissioner from South Georgia. Tyler has gone to DC. The Senate candidate is not settled. Tyler Harper could be the candidate that would satisfy Trump and Kemp.
They are trying to de-MAGA-nfy Georgia. Barbara Rivera Holmes was appointed by Brian Kemp for Labor commissioner after the death of previous labor commissioner, Bruce Thompson. She is a democrat from Albany Ga. She is a former head of the Albany Chamber of Commerce, she bucked the trend for republican candidates to support Donald Trump when she seemed to sidestep the question if she is seeking Trump’s endorsement. She is not a MAGA warrior.
LT Governor Burt Jones he will wear the red hat but underneath the red hat as Lt governor we are still using dominion machines, he had the opportunity to push back on the governor to remove the machines.
Senate President Pro Tem John F Kennedy entered the race for GA Lt Governor, Brian Kemp is running his campaign and Kemp is running Barbara Rivera Holmes campaign as well.
Brad Raffensperger is running for office. We don’t know if it will be Senate or Governor. Jordan Fuchs has moved to the campaign side. Did she leave to support Brad Raffensperger or for Gabe Sterling for Secretary of State.
Democrats look to Stacey Abrams for help to flip the Georgia House. She was the former minority leader in the Georgia State HOuse who put a lot of pressure on republicans to put democrat policy in their bills. Do they already have the districts that could easily flip democrat, 5-8 seats. We have to prepare for 2026.
