DC beat Pbks by 6 wickets in the 66th match of IPL- 25

The 66th Match of Mens Tata IPL-2025 was played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur on 24th May, 2025. In this match Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets. In this match Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Punjab Kings while batting first scored 206 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 207 runs to Delhi Capitals to win. In reply Delhi Capitals made 208 runs for the loss of four wickets in 19.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
Punjab Kings while batting first started very poorly and lost the first wicket early at 8 runs in 1.5 overs. Priyansh Arya was first to go out caught by Tristan Stubbs of the bowling of Mustafizur Rahman after scoring only 5 runs from 5 balls.
Then Prabhsimran Singh with Josh Inglis batted with authority and added 47 runs from 22 balls for the second wicket and consolidated the innings of Punjab Kings. Josh Inglis was second wicket to fall after scoring quickfire 32 runs from 12 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. He was stumped by Tristan Stubbs of the bowling of Vipraj Nigam.
Prabhsimran Singh scored valuable 28 runs from 18 balls hitting 4 fours and 1 six and was third wicket to fall. He was bold by Vipraj Nigam. Then Shreyas Iyer added 41 runs from 28 balls with Nehal Wadhera for the fourth wicket and put the Punjab innings right back on track.
But Nehal Wadhera lost his wicket after making 16 runs from 16 balls hitting 1 four. He was caught by Faf du Plessis of the bowling of Mukesh Kumar. Shashank Singh was removed by Mustafizur Rahman after contributing 11 runs from 10 balls.
Shreyas Iyer played a gem of innings of 53 runs from 34 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Kuldeep Yadav took his wicket and was caught by Mohit Sharma. It was because of late onslaught of power hitting from Marcus Stoinis- Punjab Kings were able to reach respectable score of 206 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten on 44 runs made from 16 balls only hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Harpreet Brar also remained not out on 7 runs from 2 balls which included a six.
Mustafizur Rahman bowled well and took three wickets. Two wickets each were taken by Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav. One wicket was taken by Mukesh Kumar. Punjab Kings made score of 206 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 207 runs to Delhi Capitals to win.
While chasing the target Delhi Capitals started very cautiously with new opening pair Faf du Plesis and KL Rahul batting on merit of the ball. The openers added 55 runs in 5.3 overs and laid solid foundation for Punjab to win.
KL Rahul was first to go out caught by Shashank Singh of the bowling of Marco Jansen after scoring well complied 35 runs from 21 balls which included 6 fours and one six.
Faf duPlesis followed immediately KL Rahul and was second to go out caught by Priyansh Arya of the bowling of Harpreet Brar after scoring 23 runs from 15 balls hitting 2 fours and 1 six.
Sediqullah Atal was third wicket to fall after scoring quickfire 22 runs from 16 balls hitting 2 sixes. He was caught by Arshdeep Singh of the bowling of Praveen Dubey.
Then Karun Nair with Sameer Rizvi played their heart out and added 61 runs from 30 balls for the fourth wicket and brought Punjab closer to victory. But Karun Nair was bold by Harpreet Brar after scoring quickfire 44 runs from 27 balls hitting 5 fours and two sixes.
Finally Sameer Rizvi with Tristan Stubbs continued good work of batting and added unbeaten 53 runs from 27 balls for the fifth wicket and won the match for Punjab.
Sameer Rizvi played match winning innings of 58 runs from 25 balls only hitting 3 fours and five sixes and remained not out. Tristan Stubbs also remained not out on 18 runs from 14 balls hitting 2 towering sixes.
Delhi Capitals made 208 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.3 overs. Delhi Capitals won the match by 6 wickets and ended their campaign of IPL-25 on a winning note.
For Punjab Harpreet Brar took two wickets and one wicket each was taken by Marco Jansen and Praveen Dubey. Sameer Rizvi was given the Player Of the Match Award.
