Mandela County, where supernatural beings called "Alternates" take over the town by using psychological torture and assuming human identities. These Alternates, also known as "Intruders", are part of a demonic army led by Gabriel, who seeks to expand their influence on Earth through fear and manipulation. The series follows the main characters, including Thatcher Davis, a former police officer, and Adam Murray, a member of a paranormal investigation society, as they try to stop the Alternates and their sinister goals.
