Tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu Kashmir, on April 30. In a strong message posted on X, the Indian Navy declared, “Fuelling the Maritime Might – No mission too distant, No sea too vast.”
Amid rising security concerns, the Indian Navy has ramped up operations in the Arabian Sea, particularly within India’s Exclusive Economic Zone. Naval warships remain on high alert, closely monitoring for any suspicious activity. Recent days have seen a series of anti-ship and anti-aircraft drills conducted in the area.
Reinforcing the maritime perimeter, Indian Coast Guard vessels have been deployed near the International Maritime Boundary off the Gujarat coast. According to defence sources, the Navy is steadily bolstering its presence across the region.
On the political front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired key high-level meetings, including the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs and the Cabinet Committee on Security. Senior ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, were in attendance. This marks the second such security meeting since the Pahalgam attack.
The Prime Minister also convened the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and led the first full Cabinet session following the Pakistan-backed assault. Reaffirming India’s resolve, PM Modi underscored the nation's unyielding stance against terrorism and expressed complete faith in the Indian Armed Forces — granting them full operational freedom to decide the time, place, and manner of response.
