Does it Matter When and How God Created?

In this brief excerpt from the course, Intro to the Bible and Theology, Dr. Barber discusses how it really does matter when and how God created this universe. Most critically of all, it matters that death came about through Adam’s sin. That is, man gave rise to death; death did not give rise to man.

The myth of evolution asserts that through death came man. The Bible reveals that through man came death. These two cannot both be true; you must choose.

The Gospel message of Jesus’ Cross depends on the historical fact that the first Adam sinned, and through his sin death entered:

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).

Jesus Christ is called ‘the Last Adam’ because He has reversed Adam’s curse by His death for all Adam’s race on the Cross.

But if evolution were true, and death gave rise to man, then there is no need for Jesus and His Cross.

Today, many people – most of our 'leaders' – worship death as the hero, as evolution teaches us to do. True Christians worship the only Saviour from death, Jesus Christ.
