Canada: Pierre Poilievre vows to scrap EV sales mandate if elected – April 24, 2025

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre holds a news conference in Halifax to announce that if his party is elected, it will cancel Canada’s electric vehicle sales mandates. A plan enacted by the Liberals would begin phasing out the sale of gas-powered cars next year, with the goal of 100 per cent zero emission car sales by 2035.
