welp I found one thing that really helped my game at the end of this 30 game marathon. I was throwing the ball too FAST MPH forward & by touching or even garbing my left back foot put me in the STRIKE position & as long as I didn't pull the ball right or left its my BEST strike position for a light 10lb ball release.
like some or most bowlers say throwing the ball slower gives the pins time to react better & longer. I had pins on the floor spinning/reacting. if I throw faster I must be DEAD NUT for a strike (its unforgiving at fast speeds) were as a slower speed creates a slower more timely reaction time!) not really for the Packy or Belmo LONG messenger or LUCKY striking they PROVE they have.
Like I have always said "Jason Belmonty is by far the LUCKIEST bowler ever." the long messenger PROVES his LUCK of the game. I have seen Packy Hanrahan get pretty LUCKY but not a lucky as Belmo. those long messengers PROVE they can strike even missing there pocket zone.
I'm a technical bowler. when I bowl light ball 10lb I MUST prove I'm technical & skill of the game with vary little luck! its also the way I converted the big 4.
I say hook ball takes a lot of skill that's a fact BUT having diffrent balls for more or less hook takes a LOT of skill & accuracy out of the game & relys on the oil heavenly. a str8 ball does NOT ever relay or dry lanes its way more on ACCURACY over the 4 times pocket zone oil/type of ball you use when throwing the hook ball.
The older bowlers were WAY more ACCURATE (they had to be) it was dam near str8 in up until around the 80's. I wached EVERY 300 & how they throw the ball into the strike zone.
the reason ALL PBA bowlers of today throw the huge hook ball is to have a 4 times greater chance of striking over a str8 ball. its because of the late angle they get with a hook ball. 6 degrees is IDEAL where as you can only get a 1.5 degree from anywhere at the foul line with a str8 in shot with ZERO hook & ZERO side roll.
I will say this again. the reason its a waste of time & energy to wipe your ball of oil is because no matterhow you throw the ball it has to roll 14 times (that's with NO revs) with revs its at least twice that if not more rolling in the 35' short pattern. longer oil pattern the more time your ball will roll in the oil. all you do is times the feet of oil times 12 then then divide it by your ball circumference 27" . that tells you how many time your ball has to roll in the oil. your ball has 3 to 4 lines of oil marks called flair. there is NO reason to wipe oil off your ball it changes NOTHING!
With a str8 ball oil patterns DO NOT MATTER & have NO effect on your bowling. same is true if you strip the lanes of oil & bowl on oil free lanes. oil or dry it wont matter period...! what really matters is SKILL level NOT the ball used. I have thought all a long its the ball manufactures want you to think ball does matter for a lot more sales & give the balls to the PBA pros while you pay MANY hundreds of Dollars. FREE to pros is why you as a non pro pay 2 to 3 times more for each & every ball.
