Solutions to End Homelessness for Good
This video is produced by a homeless woman who is 60 years old and has a lifetime of experience. She is discussing homelessness, its causes and solutions. She has been homeless for 8 years. Susan is advocating to end Homelessness for Good. Susan has contributed to the community her entire life. She worked in 400 companies temping, she has produced wellbeing and nonviolence programs for children and travelled the world spreading joy. Susan explains why this poverty mentality exists and that homeless is not only about not having a house but is home-less-ness or not feeling loved. This can be felt by those living in condominiums, those losing partners, those living alone in a society that is breaking down and forgotten what genuine care and ‘home’ is. A wealthy society has the resources to end it as we saw during Covid-19 pandemic. Everyone was housed as there was political with to do so. Then they returned to business-as-usual redirecting resources to contractors not serving the community. Susan talks about Chinese ownership in Australia, warships entering Australia (30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre). Refer https://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/military/important-detail-we-missed-in-the-arrival-of-chinese-warships-to-sydney/news-story/a8474e5d7219ee21d42f3bf73388c7c1. In 2025 Live fire by Chinese warships happened outside of Australian waters but was not detected by Defence (government) but rather Air Services Australia (private sector). Refer https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/virgin-pilot-alerted-australia-to-chinese-warships-live-firing-after-drills-began-20250225-p5levw.html This raises questions of foreign interference when leaders or authorities don't know. What happens to the homeless when not a national priority? What happens when more of the middle class become poor due to technology replacing human workers. Susan believes homelessness could end overnight with a willingness to do so.
It is unhappiness that is a root cause of homelessness. This arises from how we feel about ourselves, how we interpret how we are seen by others, finding joy in what we do and our goals. The cost of living, forced to work in unhappy jobs, negative media, inequality, abuse and indifference are aspects of structural violence. The violence ends when we return to a fairer kinder society, where we see ourselves in each other and we level the playing field based on merit. We need governance that serves the public genuinely not as sound bites. We need people who feel a desire to serve the public and address real issues that address social-emotional problems. Ecovillages for homeless people are a solution to break out of dependency and encourage self sufficiency. Refer proposal https://ha.worldpeacefull.com/all-lives-matter/solution-build-a-ecovillage/ There is no program to educate for Happy families conflict resolving problems so kids don't carry it over their lives or use drugs to suppress what they can’t understand or face as it hurts. Many do not experience real consequences. Courts fine people but don't teach them the impact of anti-social behaviour nor build empathy. Drugs temporarily feel good and cause major social impacts and isolation. Those selling drugs are not stopped indifferent to the lives they ruin and the hearts they break as families can’t save their kids distressed at their vulnerability. There are karmic implications when harm is caused. To end homelessness resources must be directed to resolving problems and encouraging sharing, caring, revealing and healing.
The greatest poverty is in the need for more, believing in never enough and squandering millions and billions of public monies by those who have plenty and ignoring those in the greatest need. Greed and psychological poverty are different sides of the same coin. To resolve this problem we have to encourage the search to be happy and advocate for positive futures.
When you are happy you will never walk past a homeless person looking impassive or using your iPhone to pretend they don't exist. You will see yourself in them and want them to be as happy as you are. Even a smile makes a difference.
Unhappiness is driven by unhappy parents, indifference, neglect, bullying, unhappy work places, poverty (inequality), negative thoughts believed and not choosing happiness as the real objective of life. When happiness is no. 1 homelessness is not possible. Home is where the heart is.
