04.13.25 "Happy Palm Sunday / Happy Holy Week"

We are beginning what is referred to in the Christian world as Holy Week, the week that starts with Palm Sunday and ends with Easter Sunday. ACIM refers to Holy Week as well. Many ACIM students merely overlook these traditional Christian references, but I am of the belief that if they were irrelevant they wouldn't be in ACIM. Jesus wouldn't have included them, "... we are studying a unified thought system in which nothing is lacking that is needed, and nothing is included that is contradictory or irrelevant." (WkBk.42.9)

Many Christian teachings and traditions have much to offer the dedicated ACIM student. Many to most of these teachings are not contradictory at all, and many to most certainly are not irrelevant. One CAN filter out the obvious Christianity from ACIM. I know several who have. However I feel this is like taking the caffeine out of coffee. One can drink decaf coffee. It still has all the appearance of regular coffee. It even smells and tastes like coffee. However, it's not coffee. It lacks the energetic punch of coffee. And from my standpoint – it's an abomination. (If I was going to argue in favor of the existence of the devil I would use decaf coffee as a primary piece of evidence. It's existence is truly "diabolical." lol)

Back to ACIM, there is even a whole section in the Text named "Holy Week." There are many passages I could focus in on here but time and space are limited. I am guided to this one, "A week is short, and yet this holy week is the symbol of the whole journey the Son of God has undertaken. He started with the sign of victory the promise of the resurrection already given him. Let him not wander into the temptation of crucifixion and delay him there." (Tx.20.3) Let us let this Holy Week symbolize the entire life journey of the Child of God. Let us remember that it starts with a joyful celebration of victory and a promise of redemption, of healing – or as the quotation states – "... of the resurrection."

We were born into this life already imprinted with all our healing, all our overcoming, within our holy minds. Nothing can change that. However humbly we may have rode in, (Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday on the young offspring of a donkey) the celebration of life goes on unabated. That celebration is honoring US. We are the savior the world has been waiting for. Palm Sunday is our celebration. "I came for the salvation of the world." (WkBk.319) And, "I am the means God has appointed for the salvation of the world." (WkBk.63.4)

We have found the messiah and it is us. We have nothing to fear because the blueprints for any resurrection, any healing, which might be needed were given to us in the beginning. So let us rejoice. Happy Palm Sunday. Happy Holy Week.
