Escape - Out Of This World

(February 28, 1947)
A British and an American ventriloquist take an intense dislike for each other, and the dummy has a few ideas of his own. The script was used on a program called, "Out Of This World" a month previously. Lamont Cranston receives a visit in his apartment from Commisssioner Weston who is investigating a case in the building. A wave of assinations has hit the city which has got Weston confused. They have found five men murdered in the last two weeks, each murder looks exactly like suicide but for a curious mark on the palm of each victims hand, a circle with a cross underneath... + Essentially this is the same story as "Dead of Night (audition)" though the beginning is different and the name of the main character is Tomkins instead of Hickson. It is about the intense relationship between a ventriloquist and his Dummy. The outcome in this version is also very different to the audition show.
