That’s what these North Korean hackers now have to figure out. Cuz even though they succeeded at the biggest crypto heist ever,
they haven’t gotten away with it yet.

You see, crypto is actually much harder to launder than regular cash. Like if you robbed a bank, your cash is good at almost any shop, money exchanger, and casino in the world. But if you commit a crypto heist,
all that digital money is traceable.

Anyone with internet can track exactly what wallets the crypto goes through. So services like Coinbase who help you exchange your crypto to cash, blocks those wallets. To get around this, the hackers usually could throw their crypto into a mixing service.

These pool together funds from other users, then sends out the same amount you put in, to a new wallet. But huge transactions will still attract attention.
