In many of Groden's arguments that Hofeling leaves be, Groden changes the other side's argument then defeats the modified argument. The biggest sign that he's bullshitting is it's exceedingly hard to put your finger on what he's saying.
I don't know if he's lying and somehow collecting money on this, as I believe to be the case with Josiah Thompson. But it wouldn't be the first time (look up his testimony in the OJ civil case). Just as likely, he won't disprove the tape exactly for the reason he and Groubert give-because he thinks it's the only evidence we have. It's not. The hard evidence are the photos and X rays of JFK's head, but the Z film is still useful. You can get a rough idea of what they edited & what the limitations of this evidence are if you read the theories and think about it. It still shows JFK and Connally getting hit with different shots, multiple hits on JFK, throat hit first (I read that's a standard technique for assassinations).
