China Hits Back: “If US Wants War, We Are Ready”

China has hit back at U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest tariffs, warning that Beijing is prepared for a full-scale confrontation. The Chinese Embassy in Washington accused the U.S. of using the fentanyl crisis as a “flimsy excuse” to raise tariffs, stating, “If war is what the U.S. wants—be it a tariff war, a trade war, or any other type of war—we’re ready to fight till the end.” In response, China announced retaliatory tariffs on key American agricultural exports, including soybeans, corn, and beef, and imposed restrictions on 25 U.S. firms. As the trade war escalates, tensions between the world’s two largest economies are at a breaking point.
