The Sabbath in the Old Testament was just a shadow pointing to the real rest found in JESUS CHRIST. His death and rising again finished the work, so we don’t need to keep the old Sabbath law. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:9-10 – “There is still a Sabbath-rest for God’s people, for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did.” This means through faith in CHRIST, believers have EVERYDAY REST in Him, not just one day a week.

The Bible also says in Colossians 2:16-17 – “Don’t let anyone judge you about a Sabbath day. These are shadows, but the reality is found in CHRIST.” This shows the Sabbath was just a sign, and the real thing is JESUS. Instead of following an old law, we rest in HIM and HIS finished work.

JESUS Himself said in Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all who are tired and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This is real, deep rest for the soul, not just physical rest one day a week.
