Bachelor Nation fans recently discovered that Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell, who announced their breakup last month, may still be on friendly terms after Rachael liked Matt’s recent Instagram post from his trip to Kenya. The post marked Matt's first social media activity since the breakup, which he previously described as a decision for "peace" and due to concerns about their long-term compatibility.

Rachael later addressed the split on Call Her Daddy, revealing that Matt expressed doubts about her qualities as a future wife, despite their prior discussions about engagement and starting a family. She recalled Matt telling her he couldn’t envision marrying her, even though they had talked about looking at engagement rings. Their relationship had also become strained during a trip to Tokyo, where minor arguments escalated into larger concerns about their compatibility.

The breakup was made public unexpectedly when Matt posted about it while Rachael was boarding a flight. She was shocked to learn of the post through a friend's message and spent the next 12 hours without Wi-Fi, unable to process the situation. While she has since spoken with Matt, who admitted the post was a mistake, Rachael said she couldn't reconcile with someone who publicly disrespected her. Despite still caring for him, she emphasized the importance of standing up for herself and moving on independently.
