Heavy winds and pouring rains buffeted Winston-Salem after Tropical Storm Michael hit the Carolinas on Thursday, October 11. In the Buena Vista neighborhood, a resident filmed a tree snapping in the wind, falling on an area home. The National Hurricane Center advised that wind speeds reduced to a maximum of 50 miles per hour as the storm advanced north and east. Credit: Darren Stoter via Storyful
