Dig it! "Five on the Black Hand Side" (1973) Movie Review

It's Black History Month, and Barkey has a lesser-known comedy to share with you for the occasion. "Five on the Black Hand Side" (1973) is about an overbearing husband who has to face changing times as his wife wants to be liberated and his kids are all exploring Black Pride. A real time capsule of the 1970's, this was meant to be an answer to the depiction of blacks in the blaxploitation films of the time. Leonard Jackson stars, and several familiar faces appear in the cast, including Janet Dubois from "Good Times".
