The Potomac River Plane Crashes of 1985 and 2025

40 years ago this month we witnessed a tragic event when 78 people died in a plane crash from improper de-icing at takeoff.

That bridge collided with the 14th Street Bridge. Today we deal with another plane crash in the same river, at nearly the same exact spot. The number 14 comes up again. I'll have to refresh my memory as to how.
