People living in Collier County packed a budget meeting Thursday with county commissioners, who were expected to vote on whether to impose a controversial fee on property owners. Money from the fee would be used pay for projects to improve the county's drainage system. Over 100 people registered to speak during the public comment section of the meeting, most voicing opposition to the fee. The county said that if it passes, no single-family home would pay more than $192 per year.
