Shoppers were lucky to be alive after "several tonnes" of shop signage fell onto a busy footpath - from the side of a Debenhams.
Onlookers at the scene said the "rotten" Debenhams sign "could easily have killed somebody" when it toppled to the ground. Eyewitnesses looked on in shock, with one saying that it was fortunate it didn't fall in the height of summer when more people were around, on Wednesday afternoon, in Folkestone, Kent.
