Rumble The Internet is full of stories in which faithful dogs remain in their thoughts and in their "deeds" with the owner who unfortunately passed away. And not only the owner - there are cases when dogs grieve for their lost litter-mates of just the best dog-friend they used to love to frolic around on the backyard lawn. They are loyal to them, they also wait and believe that the buddy has just gone somewhere and they will eventually reunite. Some, on the contrary, seem to be fully aware that the beloved man, woman or pooch is forever gone. This is extremely sad because the animal often suffers very much. No less than people faced with the same situation.

The most interesting thing about this is that stories of grieving canines are repeated often enough. And the Internet is only a recent "thing", take a dip into the bottomless lore of human oral tradition and you will be amazed how this loyalty and devotedness resonates in our common consciousness.

There are so many stories about the loyalty of pets, languishing for lost loved ones and refusing to leave their eternal resting sites. Many not even for a second doubt that their dogs and cats will miss them in case of their passing away.

This is the tearful moment a dog gets emotional after his grieving owner brings home his departed buddy's ashes.

When Cheryl Copeland, from West Tawakoni in Texas, USA, returned home with the ashes of her late English Bulldog Bubba, his buddy. Gamer started going crazy and she could not work out why.

But after they placed the box of ashes on the floor next to him, it instantly became clear.

In the video, Gamer immediately recognizes Bubba's scent and presence - incredibly rubbing himself against the box and showering it with kisses just as he would do when big brother Bubba was alive.

As Gamer, aged six continues to mourn his best friend, it brings Cheryl to tears as she films the touching moment at home with her husband Lee Copeland.

To provide further proof that your pooch is capable of deep feelings and devotedness, take a look at the next video. This Rottweiler grieves for brother's passing.

The owner of the pair of rescue dogs, named Hank and Brutus, captured the emotional footage when he awoke to find Hank had passed away in his sleep and Brutus lying next to him at their home in Washington, US earlier this month.

“My Rottweiler woke up to find that his twin Hank had passed during the night and gone to heaven. Brutus did not want to leave him and would not budge - laying on top of his head” the owner, who goes by the online pseudonym "Brettvett1", later wrote online.

“Brutus has never whined or cried out in pain the two years I have had him...but clearly you can see in his eyes that he is crying for his brother who had passed as his world around him just crumbled. We both grieve and cry for our brothers...this is proof that animals DO have emotions and feel pain just like we do.”
