Unwind by the Kootenay River: McLeod Meadows Campground

Follow us as we spend several hours exploring the McLeod Meadows Campground located on southern side of Kootenay National Park in British Columbia. The campground is about 100km south of Lake Louise, AB and about 30km north of the town of Radium Hot Springs, BC. This gives it an excellent position to get access to multiple hiking trails, day-use areas, rivers, lookouts and waterfalls while being far enough away from the towns to be completely submerged in the quiet of the mountains.

McLeod Meadows Campground occupies a quiet wooded area on the Kootenay River banks with spectacular mountain views. Enjoy easy access to the Dog Lake Trail. The open grasslands and river flood plains make an ideal habitat for wildlife viewing, and enjoying early summer wildflower blooms. The campground has 88 sites and is open to visitors in early June until early September each year. Services you will find at the campground include; drinking water, sani dump, flush toilets, fire pits, picnic shelter, cooking shelter, food lockers & a theater. Sites are unserviced and best suited for tenting, and motorhomes and trailers under 30 feet.
