Flash Flood Forces Evacuations in Remote Area of Grand Canyon

A flash flood in the remote Havasu Falls area of the Grand Canyon resulted in the evacuation of around 200 tourists visiting the area on July 12, according to AZ Central. The tourists were evacuated by helicopter after two waves of flooding hit the area in the early hours. Abbie Fink, spokeswoman for the Havasupai Tribal Council, said that no serious injuries were reported. Video from the area shows tourists attempting to navigate the floodwaters to reach safety.
